Discover How To Fight Cellulite

Author: Laurel Tevolitz

What does it take to seriously fight cellulite? Is it simply the process of using a cellulite cream, gel or lotion on the skin? Or does it truly take more of an effort to eliminate this frustrating skin problem? This article tries to clarify the techniques and take the confusion out of treatment options.

There are many elements to smoothing the skin and winning the battle to fight cellulite. It takes a combination of efforts both inside and out to prevent the body from producing cellulite. There is no one technique alone that can 100% miraculously eliminate this pesky orange peel/cottage cheese appearance, but the good news is its appearance can be relatively improved upon when looking in the mirror.

The first step to fight cellulite is a healthy and realistic diet. It has been said that you are what you eat, so it's very important to think about the food that we put in our mouths and how it affects the overall digestive process and residual effects on the body. A healthy diet should be low in sugars, highly glycemic carbohydrates (potatoes, rice, pastas), salt and fats that ultimately will store in the body, contributing to the overall problem. A good diet is high in lean meats (chicken, soy, fish, eggs (minimal yolks)), fresh vegetables and fruits and multi-grain choices. Another important related step to consider is removing excessive amounts of caffeine, alcohol (consider 6-8 glasses of water instead to flush the body) and smoking from your life (this one's a given).

Another big contributor to eliminating cellulite is to stop being a couch potato! Get up, exercise and move the body! It promotes a healthy heart, strong muscles and gets the blood circulating properly. Overall, this tones muscles which in turn, keeps tissues healthy and firm.

Consider a visit to a massage therapist or try some self massage techniques at home. It feels great, it's relaxing and is an excellent contributor to stimulating good circulation and assisting the body in breaking down stored fats. This works well in conjunction with exercise as it reaches areas that typically would not be targeted when you complete a gym workout.

Some options to the exterior of the body include Endermologie, skin brushing or simple skin exfoliation, cellulite cream, lotion or gel. All of these contribute to a healthier skin appearance.

And finally, take the time to eliminate stress from your life. Learn to relax and take the time to breathe. It really does make a difference in reducing tension!

Remember the way to fight cellulite is not one simple step, but a combination of several commitments on your part to make a lifestyle change that will ultimately eliminate the embarrassment when you look in the mirror. These changes are not only for this simple purpose, but more importantly, primary elements to lead a healthy life of longevity.
